Basic Info:

Inspections are an important part of our service, and we often find small issues, which are simple fixes now, but would have become costly issues later.  We have systematic examinations for both power and sailing vessels to inspect all running gear, electronics, paint, anodes, impact damages, as well as any early signs of potential future problems to add confidence the vessel is clean, sound, and ready to leave the dock.

Sacrificial anodes: We use materials that meet military specifications (mil-spec) anodes and always install with an immaculate, good clean electrical connection.

Hard growth, mostly mussels, calcareous worms and barnacles develop from larvae and love to make their homes on the surfaces under our boats.  Hard growth can be removed easily when they are juvenile, however if given a season to develop, they can compromise structure, efficiency, and even the ability to leave the dock.

Soft growth is everything from tunicates and slime molds, to the green beard of algae growing along the waterline right now.  Along with the hard growth, nobody wants a gorgeous plume anemone growing in their raw water strainers!

Anodes & Inspection: Standard Schedule

Those on the standard schedule receive anode changes at a predetermined interval, and pay on a per change/work done basis.  The anode change interval is generally 6 months in saltwater, and an extended period (generally a year) in freshwater.  An HD video summary of the vessel and detailed notes are taken as well, and shared with the owner.

It is optional, but quite beneficial to add an inspection between anode changes in saltwater. For a small fee, the vessel is inspected, cleaned, and images are shared with the owner illustrating her current status.
